The Wayne County Board of Education has approved the following principal change this week:
Dillard Middle School assistant principal Mario Re was named the principal of Dillard Middle. He is replacing Dr. Theresa Cox, who was recently named director of alternative learning programs at Wayne Middle/High Academy. Re has 22 years teaching and school administrative experience and is a past middle school principal. Mr. Re holds both a bachelor’s degree in middle school education and a master’s degree school administration from East Carolina University.
“Mr. Re has been providing administrative support to this school for a number of months,” states Dr. James Merrill. “He has come to understand the needs of this school and welcomes the opportunity to work with staff and students in this new role.”
Re will transition to his new role July 1.
