State Officials Weighing Next Phase Of Reopening

(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — State officials still say there’s cause for concern with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalization. During a media briefing, State Health and Human Service Secretary Mandy Cohen said they’re are seeing an increase in younger people being confirmed positive.

Governor Roy Cooper’s current order — so called Phase 2 — expires on Friday. Cohen said they’re still looking at trends to guide any decisions on the path forward.

Cohen also announced a statewide technology platform, NCCARE360, will coordinate traditional healthcare settings and organizations that address non-medical drivers of health, such as food, housing, transportation, employment and interpersonal safety. NCCARE360 is now available in all 100 counties.
