Patricia Jouett LeRoy, 89, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Patricia was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 2, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Jouett. She had worked as a teacher’s assistant with Goldsboro City Schools. Patricia enjoyed the opportunities given to her by helping to impact the lives of so many exceptional children during her 22 years of service.
Patricia lived a life of dedication to her family and friends, and to her community. She served her community many ways as a volunteer for over 30 years with the American Red Cross as well as with her volunteer work with the Community Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and her work as an artist. Patricia was also a brown belt in Karate.
At the age of 84, Patricia wrote her first book, Left and Found, a book about her memories from her childhood during the depression. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Patricia would always call you “Sugar” and was always ready to share a story. She will be missed.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with her son, Shannon LeRoy, presiding. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Patricia was the best mother to her children: Patrick Shannon LeRoy, Lucinda LeRoy Glaug, Doricia LeRoy Benton and husband Ben Jr., Mickey Goss, and BeBe Robb. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Isabel B. LeRoy; grandchildren, Trey, Victoria, Cash, Carina, J.P., Nikki, Cindi, Ranson, Tiffany, Patti, Chris, Joe, and Jennifer; and many great-grandchildren she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Henry Philip LeRoy; sons, Philip Kevin LeRoy and Joey Goss; and grandson, Patrick LeRoy.
