Juvenile Arrested For Shooting Incident At Berkeley Mall

Around 6:45 PM Thursday, the Goldsboro Police Department responded to Berkeley Mall for the report of shots fired.  Officers set up a perimeter and started searching for a suspect described as wearing a black hoodie.  A 17-year-old juvenile matching the description was eventually found inside the mall, and officers reportedly found a stolen 9mm handgun during a search of the suspect.  There were no reported injuries from the shooting, but a vehicle was damaged.  The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents and has been served with juvenile petitions for Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Damage to Property, and Discharging a Weapon in the City Limits.  The GPD says the case remains under investigation and more arrests are possible.
