Kinston Police say there was no threat to the public during a reported shooting incident on the campus of Lenoir Community College.  Just before 9 AM Wednesday, officers with the Kinston P.D. were dispatched to LCC for an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.  An employee of DEPS Company Police was found suffering from a single non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg.  The DEPS Company Police Officer was providing police services to LCC at the time of the incident.  The officer was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment.  The incident occurred in a parking area and no students were present.  The KPD says at no time was there any disturbance, active shooter, or other type of threat on campus.
