4th Fighter Wing Command Change in July

The 4th Fighter Wing prepares to welcome its new commander.  Col. Kurt Helphinstine is scheduled to assume command of the 4th Fighter Wing on July 2nd.  Helphinstine is currently the 366th Fighter Wing Deputy Commander for Operations at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.  Following Undergraduate Pilot Training at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, Helphinstine has had three operational assignments and six deployments flying the F-15E Strike Eagle.  Col. Helphinstine will be taking over for Col. Donn Yates who has led the 4th Fighter Wing at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base since July of 2018.
