A Wayne County bridge replacement project is completed.  The North Carolina Department of Transportation says the Mark Edwards Road bridge project wrapped up late Tuesday, almost two months ahead of schedule.  The project was accelerated following concerns from the surrounding community.  The issue had been lengthened response times for the New Hope Fire Department which serves a large area across the bridge from the fire station.  To help address those concerns, the NCDOT offered a $200,000 incentive to the contractor for completing the project two months earlier than originally scheduled.
