The City of Goldsboro puts pen to paper and officially marks this month as Military Appreciation Month.
Last week, the Goldsboro City Council approved a proclamation recognizing May as Military Appreciation Month in the city. Councilman Bill Broadaway read the proclamation.
Several military anniversaries and events are marked during the Month of May, including Memorial Day, Armed Forces Day and Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
Goldsboro had been planning to hold its first ever North Carolina Freedom Festival in May to correspond with Armed Forces Day. However, the event has been postponed until August 22nd due to the coronavirus pandemic.
