Jessie Michael “Mike” Rackley, 63, A Mount Olive resident all of his life passed away quietly at his home Monday afternoon, March 23, 2020.

Mike was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Olive. He was also a member of Southern Wayne Country Club where he learned to play the game of golf which he loved very much. He was a member of the Goldsboro Hog Chapter of motorcycle riders for several years, and loved to ride his Motorcycle with his family and friends. He also loved to shag and danced on the circuit for several years.

Mike had been employed with Mt. Olive Pickle Company for 21 years as superintendent of distribution after his involvement in the trucking business.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Wilbur and Deane Hood Rackley. He is survived by his wife, Clara Adams Rackley; three daughters and their significant others, Brooke Lupo and Charles Smith of Pikeville, Ashley Martin and Matt Wagner of Kenly, and Kristen Martin and Rhett Hawley of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Kyla and Joshua Lupo, Garrison Jones, and Brody Swiney; two sisters, Vicki Chewning and husband, Tom, of Greenville, and Kim McLawhorn and husband, Danny, of Wilmington; and nieces, Shelley Caison, Jessica Yost, Blythe Crawford, and Milissa McLawhorn; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Since the family was unable to remember Mike during to the pandemic, they have chosen to celebrate his life on Saturday, June 27, 2020 with a drop in for family and friends, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at his home, 1202 Old Smith Chapel Road, Mount Olive.

Because of Mike’s love for his dogs, Stella and Dakota, the family asks that in lieu of flowers please remember him by giving to a local animal shelter.
