This is officially EMS Week in Wayne County.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Wayne County Board, the commissioners approved the 2020 EMS Week Proclamation.

Wayne County EMS Director Dave Cuddeback read the proclamation to the board.

Cuddeback noted the week got off to a difficult start for Wayne County’s EMS crews as they took part in the funeral procession for Donald Gray, a former firefighter.

County Commissioner Wayne Aycock thanked Wayne County’s EMS crews for all that they do.

In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities.
