JoAnn Forehand Bass, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at her home.
JoAnn was born in Wayne County on November 13, 1936 to the late Benjamin and Eva Blow Forehand. She worked as a registered nurse for 56 years in hospitals and care facilities in North Carolina and Arizona before retiring from Cherry Hospital.
A service celebrating JoAnn’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at The Pikeville Church, 336 Nahunta Road, Pikeville. The family will gather privately for her burial at the Forehand Family Cemetery.
JoAnn is survived by her sons, Lamont Bass and Michael Bass and wife Kelly; sisters, Maxine F. Suggs and Betty Jean Corbett and husband Donald; four grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Amanda Zaytoun, Tiffany Bass and Travis Bass; two great-grandchildren, Landon Zaytoun and Wade Bass; and many nieces and nephews she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Barbara Bass.
