Toby Allen Coley, 51, passed away Sunday at Hospice House in Smithfield. He is the son of Anne Coley and the late Roy Allen Coley. Toby was a self-employed roofer, and helped at the family fruit stand when he could. He loved to work, and shared his love of roofing with anyone that wanted to learn. He also enjoyed fishing, and was always the life of the party.

A private service will be held.

In addition to his mother, Toby is survived by his son, Matthew Coley of Nahunta; a daughter, Allison Coley of Selma; his sisters, Kelly Coley of Rosewood and Lori Phillips and husband, Bobby “Shorty” of Goldsboro; a grandchild on the way; a niece; and 5 nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
