Kenneth Norwood Mills, 55, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at his home.

Kenneth was born in Wayne County on January 5, 1965 to Thelma Taylor Mills of Goldsboro and the Norwood Leonard “Pop” Mills. He worked with the family business as well as a timber buyer for himself. He attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church. Kenneth had a wonderful sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. He was a good friend and had a generous heart.

A service celebrating Kenneth’s life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the family farm in the Taylor Family Cemetery. Due to the current crisis, there will be no formal visitation held.

In addition to his mother, Kenneth is survived by his wife, Sharon Campbell Mills; children, Channing Derwitz, Christian Mills, Christopher Mills and Chloe Mills; grandchildren, Kamden Derwitz and Nolan Derwitz; brother, Larry Mills; sister, Norlette Mills-Adams; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lenny Mills.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in Kenneth’s memory to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
