Lions Club To Assist Visually Impaired During COVID-19

The Goldsboro Host Lions Club is working to assist the over 400 visually impaired persons in Wayne County during the coronavirus pandemic.

In an interview with Kay-Tee on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3, Zachary Lilly with the Goldsboro Host Lions Club talked about the organization’s COVID-19 Response.

The goal is to provide the essential items – like groceries – for visually impaired people, with deliveries starting this Friday, May 1st.  The deliveries would continue over the next six to nine months.

Lilly says donations and volunteers are needed to make the effort a success.

Lilly says the COVID-19 Response fits right in with the mission of the Lions Club, which assists visually impaired people in Wayne County throughout the year.

He also notes many of the county’s visually impaired persons suffer from an underlying condition that puts them in the high-risk group for COVID-19.

Those interested in helping out can contact Lilly 919-288-0688.  You can visit GoldsboroLions.com for more information.
