Just before 2:30 AM Monday, firefighters from Arrington and Mar-Mac, along with Wayne County EMS, responded to a single vehicle accident on Arrington Bridge Road. As firefighters arrived on the scene, they assisted in getting the driver out of the vehicle. The driver was taken to the hospital to be checked out for what appeared to be non-life threating injuries. The Toyota 4 Runner was reportedly heading north on Arrington Bridge Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and came back across the center line. The Toyota ran off the left side of the road and flipped over, landing in a ditch. The accident in under an investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol and charges may be pending. Firefighters remained on the scene until cleared by the State Highway Patrol.
