Heavy storms may rumble through the area Monday morning. According to the National Weather Service, a line of thunderstorms will move east across Central North Carolina late Sunday night into Monday morning. Widespread wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph are expected both within and around these storm, lasting through mid-afternoon Monday. The most intense storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts of up to 70 – 80 mph. The time for the greatest threat will be between 5 AM and noon on Monday. A Tornado Warning and Wind Advisory are in effect.
