Overnight I-40 Closures Continue for Bridge Work

RALEIGH – Work on the Complete 540 project is scheduled to continue with overnight closures planned along Interstate 40 this week and into early next week.
Weather permitting, I-40 East is set to close at U.S. 70 East (Exit 309) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Aug. 16 through Aug. 21, so crews can safely remove old bridge girders and columns over the interstate. I-40 East traffic will be detoured along U.S. 70 East and N.C. 42 West to return to the interstate.read more »
