On Aug. 16 at approximately 8:28 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of N. Berkeley Boulevard and Caudill Avenue.

RALEIGH – Work on the Complete 540 project is scheduled to continue with overnight closures planned along Interstate 40 this week and into early next week.
Weather permitting, I-40 East is set to close at U.S. 70 East (Exit 309) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Aug. 16 through Aug. 21, so crews can safely remove old bridge girders and columns over the interstate. PRINCETON – At 3:06 this afternoon, Wayne County 911 received a call from an individual at 219 Capps Bridge Road in Princeton in reference to a suspicious armed individual at their residence.
After arriving, deputies were approached by a male suspect armed with a shotgun. Verbal commands were given to the suspect and he did not comply. After raising the shotgun and ignoring verbal commands, the suspect sustained a gunshot wound from deputies on the scene. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and no identification is available at this time.
This incident, along with the use of force, is being investigated. The SBI is also now on the scene.
