Saturday’s weather was perfect for the Town of Mount Olive’s annual Black History Month Parade. The procession of vehicles kicked off with Mount Olive Police Chief Jason Hughes and Captain John Duncan leading the parade down Breazeale Avenue toward the old Carver Elementary School. Mary Chasten was the year’s grand marshal. Mount Olive Commissioner Vicky Darden, the Unity Organization and other helped make this year’s parade possible, even in the midst of the pandemic.
