GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Day 4 of the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair brought beautiful weather, competition and plenty of reasons for families to spend Monday evening at the fairgrounds.
After rain impacted portions of the weekend, Monday offered near-perfect conditions for an evening at the fair. Visitors were able to enjoy the midway, exhibits, food and a full schedule of contests as “The Best Ten Days of Fall” continued in Wayne County.
Monday evening’s activities included the CTE Carpentry Contest at the Educational Showplace and the Math Contest at the Pavilion . The HOSA Spelling Bee also got underway at 5:30 p.m. in the Entertainment Arena, while young builders put their creativity to the test during the “On the Spot” LEGO Contest in the Youth Barn.
Day 4 also provided an opportunity to recognize competitors from Sunday’s America 250th Commemorative History Contest and livestock shows.
In the Middle School division of the America 250th Commemorative History Contest, Jackson McClure earned first place, while Liam McAuley finished second.
In the High School division, Josslyn Snyder captured first place, followed by Daniela Arritt in second.
The Beef Heifer Show also showcased the hard work of young exhibitors. Hampton Williams earned the title of Grand Champion, while Eli Price was named Reserve Grand Champion.
