November 25, 2025, 80, Mount Olive — Dennis Elwood Blizzard, known to most as Bopeep Blizzard, passed away Friday, November 25, 2025, at Rex UNC Hospital in Raleigh following several cardiac events.

Mr. Blizzard, age 80, was a resident of the White Flash Community near Mount Olive.  He was the son of the late Everett Elwood Blizzard and Lucitte Gufford Blizzard.

He had served in the United States Army as a young man.  His working career was in bridge maintenance with the N. C. Department of Transportation, Division of Highways in Duplin County, NC.  Following his retirement, he and a friend and co-worker, C. B. Kornegay, completed small construction and building projects in their local communities.

Mr. Blizzard is survived by his children, DeShannon “Dee” Blizzard and wife, Tami, of Goldsboro, April Blizzard of Mount Olive, and Christy Blizzard Price of Mount Olive; a brother, Seth Thomas “Snowball” Blizzard of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Harley Hunter, Justin Hooks, and Hannah Price Heath; great-grandchildren, Cullen, Caiden, and Kannon Hunter, and Ava Kay Heath; a nephew, Thomas Blizzard; nieces, Sissy B. Madrigal and Polly Blizzard, and their families.

Mr. Blizzard lived a quiet life, and in doing so, he had asked that his passing be handled accordingly.  Therefore, his family will remember his life and mourn his passing in their own private ways.
