BREAKING NEWS: Goldsboro Police Arrest Suspect in North Georgia Avenue Shooting

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a shooting reported late Sunday night in the 700 block of N. Georgia Avenue.

Just before 9:45 p.m. on November 30, officers responded to two ShotSpotter alerts in the area. When they arrived, they found 24-year-old Taheim Leach suffering from a gunshot wound. Leach was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment and has since been released.

Following an investigation, police identified Ormond Cobb, 34, as the suspected shooter. On December 1, members of the Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division served Cobb with outstanding warrants at the Wayne County Courthouse. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Wayne County Jail without bond.

Cobb faces multiple charges, including:

  • Attempted First Degree Murder
  • Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury (AWDWIKISI)
  • Two Counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
