James Houston, 89, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born in Nassau County, NY, on February 19, 1936, he was son to the late James Houston and Grace Logan Houston. James served his country in the military and was a proud veteran.

No formal services will be held.

James is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edith Marilyn Mann Houston; his children, Lisa Osteen and husband, Mark, and Michael Houston and wife, Wanda; his grandchildren, Cody Osteen (Kayla), Jake Osteen (Sam), Nikki Jernigan (Brian) and Christian Houston; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Houston.

The family is in the care of Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
