Charles Henry Weaver Sr., age 84, of Grantham Community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, November 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 1, 1941, to Gertha and Clara Denning Weaver, Charles was a lifelong resident of Wayne County and a dedicated farmer in the Grantham community.

A member of the first graduating class of the Agricultural Institute at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, Charles was a member of Eureka Christian Church, where he actively participated throughout his life. He married his high school sweetheart Annette Britt, and together they celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage.

Charles was known as an easy-going man, a man of few words, but when he spoke, he did so with wisdom and knowledge. His words carried strong value, reflecting his insightful character. Though quiet, he was a great friend to many, always ready to lend support and kindness.

Charles is survived by his wife Annette Britt Weaver, a son, Allan Weaver; daughter, Sonya Weaver Grady and her husband Johnny; five cherished grandchildren  Jonathan, Johnson, Aaron, Samuel and Nathan Grady; brothers, Carl Thomas Weaver and wife Faye, Roy Albert Weaver; a sister, Doris Alma Weaver. He is also survived by a special friend, Steve “JaboYoung” , along with the Britt family.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his son, Charles Henry Weaver Jr. (“Charlie”), and brothers Glenn Weaver, Ralph Weaver, Donald  Weaver, James Weaver, Russell Weaver, and Howard Wright Weaver, as well as his sister, Hazel Ballard.

A  service to celebrate and give thanks for Charles life will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 3 PM in the sanctuary of Eureka Christian Church in Grantham, Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family invites friends to visit from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM before the service at the church.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to the Carlisle Purvis Scholarship Fund at Eureka Christian Church.
