Wayne County, NC — Several Wayne County government offices and facilities have announced schedule changes for Thanksgiving week.

County of Wayne Government Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, 2025. All offices will resume normal operations on Monday, December 1.

All branches of the Wayne County Public Library will close early at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, and remain closed Thursday through Saturday. Libraries will reopen on Monday with regular hours.
The Register of Deeds Office will also close early on Wednesday at 3 p.m. and will reopen for normal business hours on Monday.

The Peggy M. Seegars Senior Center will be closed Thursday through Saturday, reopening Monday.

The Wayne County Landfill and convenience centers will close Thursday only and will reopen Friday under normal operating hours.

The Wayne County Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and will resume normal hours on Monday.

Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly as the county observes the Thanksgiving holiday.
