Sribenja Kunchorn Richardson, 79, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at UNC Health Wayne.
Sribenja was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Jefferson Richardson; and grandson, Thomas Alan Smith.
Sribenja is survived by her partner of 31.5 years, Bryan Glasnapp; daughters, Kanthima “Apple” Smith and husband, Jeff Smith, Waanpen D. “Pear” Richardson, and Silee “Peachie” Richardson and husband, Kenny Dail; and grandchildren, Zachery, Matthew, Grace, Tommy-Lee, and Alyssa.
Born and raised in Thailand, Sribenja brought the warmth, flavor, and spirit of her homeland wherever she went. Known for her incredible cooking, she had a special gift for creating dishes that delighted everyone fortunate enough to share her table. Her spicy Thai meals were more than food—they were expressions of love, tradition, and care.
Family was at the center of Sribenja’s life. She took immense pride in being a grandmother and could often be found cheering from the sidelines at her grandchildren’s sporting events, her joy and encouragement as vibrant as her smile. Her support and love shaped countless cherished memories for her family.
Outside the kitchen and family gatherings, Sribenja enjoyed the simple pleasures that made her life rich and full. She loved spending time with her cats, relaxing by the water with a fishing pole in hand, and bowling with friends. Her laughter, warmth, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
