Students to Sing in Choral Showcase

Goldsboro, N.C. – This week, Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) students will spread holiday cheer through festive songs and melodies at the annual district-wide Choral Showcase, with performances spanning over three nights (November 18-20) at the Dillard Middle School auditorium.

This is the 24th year for the annual holiday showcase. The showcase first began in 2001 with 12 schools participating. This year, students will be participating from 19 schools.

“The Choral Showcase is a wonderful display of our music and choral programs,” states Christy White, Enhancement Programs Coordinator. “I appreciate the efforts of our students, teachers, and choral instructors who have spent the past few months preparing for this special three night event.”

The schedule for the participating schools is as follows:

Tuesday, November 18: Brogden Middle, Brogden Primary, Carver Elementary,Grantham Elementary, Southern Wayne High,Spring Creek Elementary, Spring Creek Middle, & Spring Creek High

Wednesday, November 19: Carver Heights Elementary, Eastern Wayne Elementary, Greenwood Middle, Meadow Lane Elementary, North Drive Elementary, & Tommy’s Road Elementary

Thursday, November 20: Fremont Elementary, Northeast Elementary, Rosewood Elementary, Rosewood High, & Rosewood Middle

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. each night. Guests may enter either on Public Drive just past the gymnasium, or at the school’s main entrance on Deveraux Street. Admission is $6.00 for each person, and all proceeds will benefit the choral programs at the participating schools. Children under five years old are admitted free of charge.
