Bessie Holloman Strickland, age 100, of Princeton departed this earthly life Saturday, November 8, 2025 at her home.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton with Reverend Donald Massey officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Mrs. Strickland was born in Johnston County on July 2, 1925 to the late Fred A. and Savanah Broughton Holloman. Cherishing her memories is her daughter, Vickie S. Hare and husband, Randy of Princeton; three grandchildren, Chad Hare of Pikeville, Adam and wife, Katie of Spring Hope and Gabriel Hare-Leegins and wife, Victoria of Mt. Olive; one great-grandson, Colton Hare; a special friend, Marlisa K. Small of Little River, South Carolina and her special dog, Owan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Norman Strickland; one son, James David Strickland; four brothers; two sisters and her special canine companion, Jake.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
