Master Sergeant Willie I. Adkins Jr., USAF Retired, 84, of Dudley went to his heavenly home Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Dudley with full military honors. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Mr. Adkins was born in Bleckley County, Georgia on May 6, 1941 to the late Willie I. Adkins Sr. and Ruth Dean Adkins. He worshipped at Free Chapel PFWB Church while his health permitted.  He retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant.

He is survived by his three daughters, Kimberly Yvonne Kennedy of Faro, Tami Rene White and husband, Michael Blizzard “D” of Goldsboro and Traci Lyn Hope and husband, Linwood of Dudley; one sister, Sandra Powell and husband, Kenneth of Georgia; three grandchildren, Mark Sullivan, Bradley Kennedy and Dylan Hope; two great-grandchildren, Ian and Diana and his beloved dog, Bridgette.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Ann Adkins; brother, Wayne Adkins and one sister, Carolyn Beck. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kitty Askins Hospice Center and everyone that visited their father during his time there the last several weeks. Your love and care shown will be forever remembered.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
