Wayne Community College to Host Veterans Day Ceremony with Retired Colonel as Speaker

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Wayne Community College will honor United States military veterans with a special ceremony on Monday, Nov. 10, featuring a decorated local Army veteran as the keynote speaker.

The free public event will begin at 11 a.m. in Moffatt Auditorium, located inside the Wayne Learning Center, the main building on campus identifiable by the flag poles in front.

Colonel Curtis Inman, a Goldsboro native, will serve as the ceremony’s guest speaker. Inman was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps in 1983 and went on to serve for 30 years in various leadership capacities.

Throughout his military career, Inman held multiple command positions across four infantry divisions, an Army training center, and an Army training command. His service included mobilization with the 108th Training Command and an operational deployment with the Multi-National Security Transition Command in Iraq. He also completed two tours in South Korea.

Following his military retirement, Inman continued serving his community as a U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) instructor with the U.S. Accessions Command. He taught and mentored cadets at Goldsboro High School, his alma mater, until 2020.

The college welcomes all community members to attend the ceremony. Those requiring accessibility accommodations are encouraged to contact the Accessibility Counselor at 919-739-6729.
