Local Drivers Dominate at Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair Demolition Derby

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. – The Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair’s demolition derby drew crowds of enthusiastic spectators on Saturday, October 4, as drivers from across the region competed in three exciting vehicle classes.

In the 4 Cylinder division, Casey Thornton of Mt Olive claimed first place, demonstrating skillful maneuvering and vehicle durability throughout the competition. Hope Otano, also of Mt Olive, secured second place in the hotly contested category.

The 6 Cylinder Stock class saw Dallas Graham of Dudley take home top honors, outlasting the competition to earn the first-place finish. Aaron Paterson of Grantham followed closely behind, earning second place in the division.

Chase Fields of Dudley dominated the 6 Cylinder Modified category, claiming the only contested position in what proved to be a commanding performance.

The demolition derby was one of several attractions at the annual Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair, which continues to draw participants and visitors from throughout Wayne County and surrounding areas. The event showcases both traditional agricultural exhibitions and popular entertainment like the demolition derby, maintaining its status as a cornerstone of the local fall season.

Winners in each category received recognition for their performances in front of the Saturday crowd, capping off another successful day at the fairgrounds.
