Woman Shot in Goldsboro Home, Police Investigate Attempted Murder

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 58-year-old Goldsboro woman remains in critical condition after being shot inside her home early Saturday morning, prompting an attempted first-degree murder investigation by local police.

The Goldsboro Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 6:49 a.m. on September 14, 2025, on Wilmington Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Allison Seiler suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside the residence.

Several other individuals were found inside the home but were unharmed, according to police reports.

Seiler was initially transported by emergency medical services to UNC Health Wayne before being transferred to ECU Medical Center in Greenville, where she remains in critical condition.

The department’s Criminal Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Unit have taken over the investigation. Police have not released information about potential suspects or the circumstances leading to the shooting.
