September 4, 2025, 90, Goldsboro —

William Lasky Odom, age 90 of the Manley’s Grove community near Mount Olive, passed away just minutes into the new morning of Thursday, September 4, 2025, while receiving comforting care at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Mr. Odom leaves behind a loving family to include his wife, Wilma Odom; three children, Gail O. Brock, Debbie O. Fail and husband, Jerome, and Tony Odom and wife, Robin, all of the Manley’s Grove area; six grandchildren, Jeremy Whitfield and wife, Shannon, Heather King and husband, Jeremy, Nathan Fail and wife, Brooke, Haley Fail, Ashley Casey, and Kendall Odom; great-grandchildren, Chance King, Hunter Whitfield, Brooke Davis and husband, Myles, Zack King, Jase Fail, Emma Fail, Lyanna Harbach, Rylee Mathis, Connor Mathis, Mason Mathis, and Andrew Lopez; a great-great-granddaughter, AnnaBryan Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Richard Odom and Iona Honeycutt Odom; a son-in-law, Lawton Wayne Brock; two brothers, Garland Odom and wife, Lucille, and C. H. Odom and wife, Inez; and sisters, Nadine O. Farrow and husband, Mac, Emma O. Bowles and husband, Harold, and Ethel Odom and husband, Kenneth. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to his care giver, Shauna for her compassion and dedication shown to Mr. Odom.

On Monday, September 8, visitation will take place at Tyndall Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 2 :00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Officiating will be Pastor Donald Massey.  Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
