Anna Brizendine Pitts, 81, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, September 2, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Pitts of Mount Olive; and her daughters, Tammy Lackey and husband Doyle of Taylorsville, NC, Pamela Guins and husband David of Taylorsville, NC, Tina Findley and husband Billy of Taylorsville, NC, and Glenna Shook of Taylorsville, NC. Anna is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Natasha Long, Laura Leigh Long, Jesse Sigmon, Derek Guins, Courtney Moseley and husband Justin, and Connor Tomblin and wife Liz; along with twenty-one great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Charles; her parents, Jack and Allie Fair Brizendine; a grandson, Brandon Miller; and nine siblings.

Anna’s greatest love was her family, whom she cherished deeply. She also found great joy in her Brock’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church family, where she faithfully attended, served, and built lasting friendships. Though she made her home in Mount Olive, Anna never forgot her roots in Taylorsville and treasured the relationships she maintained there.

A service to celebrate Anna’s life will be held locally on Saturday, September 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Brock’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Mount Olive, with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. A second celebration of her life will take place at her home church on Monday, September 8, at 3:00 p.m. at Millersville Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. Flowers are welcome, or a memorial contribution to either church is welcomed.
