Margaret Louise Price Kidd, 98, of Dudley, North Carolina, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 4, 2025. Born on May 18, 1927, to Henry Price and Myrtie Bell Price, in Smithfield, North Carolina, Margaret was a strong and kind-hearted woman who devoted her life to serving her family and the Lord.

Margaret was a Christian woman of warmth and quiet strength. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was reading her Amish story books, going to thrift stores, or sharing stories in her living room with family. She was an especially talented cook, making delicious Sunday lunches that brought in family from all over. Her house was a familiar place to every member of her large family, but Margaret is who made it home.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Thurman Lee Kidd, Sr.; her five siblings, James, Estelle, Roland, Johnny, and Maggie; her infant daughter, Lillian Kidd; her son, Thurman Lee Kidd, Jr.; her daughter, Diane Ginn; her grandson, Henry “Hank” Kidd Jr.; her great-grandson, Johnathan Bartlett; her great-granddaughter Brittany Bartlett; and her great-great grandson Everett Bartlett.

She is survived by her nine children, Pearlie Ann Smith, Walter Kidd, Pat Woodard, Gale McIntosh, Henry Kidd (Sheila), Ricky Kidd (Connie), Dennis Kidd (Jean), Delilah Toler and Jeffrey Kidd; twenty-three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

A Graveside service will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Donald Massey officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
