GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A community mentoring organization named Haven of Love and Restoration has experienced substantial expansion in its women’s support services, with approximately 60 new participants joining Saturday group sessions between April and August of this year.
The faith-based program offers comprehensive support for women dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, and substance abuse issues. The organization currently operates both group sessions and individualized care, including two clients who receive weekly one-on-one peer counseling services.
All sessions focus on depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress and substance abuse issues. The support groups integrate biblical teachings into their therapeutic approach, with organizers presenting scriptural content in an accessible manner for participants at all stages of their faith journey.
The program’s inclusive approach is designed to welcome both established believers and those new to Christian faith. The organization emphasizes that biblical teachings are presented in a clear and concise way that allows even those who are unfamiliar with Christianity or just beginning their spiritual journey to understand the instruction.
The Saturday support group meetings represent the program’s primary outreach vehicle, providing a regular gathering space for women seeking community-based mental health and spiritual support. The growth from April through August suggests increasing community awareness and demand for faith-integrated mental health resources.
The expansion comes at a time when mental health support services are increasingly recognized as essential community resources, particularly programs that address multiple aspects of wellness including emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs.
