GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro Police Department is actively seeking the community’s assistance in connection with a homicide investigation that has remained ongoing since July.

The fatal incident occurred during the early morning hours of July 13, 2025, in the parking lot of Summer Nights, a business located on East Ash Street. Police have identified the victim as Derrick Maye, 39, of Goldsboro.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have been in the vicinity during the time of the incident to come forward with information. Officials emphasize that even details that may appear insignificant could prove crucial to advancing the investigation.
