North Carolina Museum of Art Hosts Outdoor Paint and Play Event for Children

RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Museum of Art will transform its outdoor space into a creative playground this Tuesday as it hosts “Kids Outdoor Paint and Play,” a two-hour family event designed to combine artistic expression with outdoor recreation.

Scheduled for August 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT, the event will take place at the museum’s expansive outdoor field, located at 2110 Blue Ridge Road in Raleigh. Children will have the opportunity to explore their artistic talents while enjoying fresh air and socializing with peers in a supervised outdoor environment.

This event offers families a unique opportunity to blend creativity with outdoor play. The museum will provide canvases and paint supplies while quantities last, though families are encouraged to bring outdoor blankets and toys to enhance the experience.

The outdoor setting allows children to create freely without the constraints of indoor spaces, while parents can relax knowing their children are engaged in both educational and recreational activities. The event targets families looking for engaging summer activities that promote both artistic development and physical outdoor play.

Tickets for the event are priced at $19.14 per participant and can be purchased in advance. Given that art supplies are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, early arrival is recommended to ensure full participation in all activities.

The North Carolina Museum of Art, known for its extensive collection and community programming, regularly hosts family-friendly events designed to make art accessible to visitors of all ages. The museum’s outdoor spaces provide an ideal venue for events that combine cultural enrichment with recreational activities.
