July 29, 2025, 78, Goldsboro —
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Diekman, a loving wife and mother, who passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025 at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Michael Diekman; her two loving children, Michael Shelp and Michelle Kennedy (Nick); grandchildren including Christina, Emily, Connor, Courtney, and Matthew, and many wonderful great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Avery, Aubrey, Kaydin, Bryn, Christian, and Evelynn. She is the devoted daughter of Doris Carnese and the late Joseph Carnese, dear siblings, Jill Cook (Mike), Doreen Obetz, and brother, Joe Carnese (Jean).
Joyce was born in Binghamton, NY and lived in Montrose, PA with her family until they relocated to St. Petersburg, Fl in 1979. She loved to laugh and enjoy the company of her family and friends. She enjoyed making crafts, crotchet and loved playing the piano as well as gardening. After many years of traveling all over the world and visiting many amazing countries with her husband and meeting wonderful people, they settled in Goldsboro, NC a few years ago to be close to her children.
A celebration of life will be held with a date to be determined.
