Pamela Jeanne (Foster) Thompson

July 26, 2025, 70, Goldsboro —

Pamela Jeanne Thompson, 70, of Goldsboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

Pamela was born on May 28, 1955, in California to the late Lyle Foster and Jacqueline Gensler Cassidy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Thompson, and her sister, Valerie Render.

Pamela was known for her kind heart, sharp wit, and love of life’s simple joys. She worked for many years at Target, where she made lasting friendships and was known for her warm smile and dependable spirit. A true fan at heart, Pamela loved cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers and was a loyal supporter of the Carolina Panthers—never missing a race or game if she could help it.

She is survived by her brother, Robert “Bob” Cassidy and wife, Kerry, of Sneads Ferry; her brother-in-law, Marty Render of Goldsboro; and Robert and Ronnie Render, whom Pamela loved as her own brother and sister-in-law. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, Walter Render and wife, Kristin, Micheal Render and wife, Kristina, Haley Myers and husband, Peter, and Emily Cassidy.

Nothing brought Pamela more joy than her great-nieces and nephews, who were truly the lights of her life: Kynleigh and Kollyns Render, and Nolan, Nathan, and Cole Render. She adored every moment spent with them and spoke of them often with pride and affection.

No formal services will be held at this time. The family invites friends and loved ones to remember Pamela in their own way—with laughter, love, and maybe a little Panthers football or a fast lap around the track in her honor.

Professional services entrusted and in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
