Goldsboro Rotary Club Awards $2,500 in Community Grants to Five Local Organizations

GOLDSBORO, NC – The Goldsboro Rotary Club has announced the recipients of its 2025 Community Grants Program, distributing $2,500 total in funding to five Wayne County organizations dedicated to serving the local community.

Grant Recipients Support Diverse Community Needs

Each organization received $500 grants following a comprehensive review process conducted by Rotary Club members. The selection committee evaluated applications based on alignment with Rotary International’s core focus areas, which include peacebuilding and conflict prevention, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, and economic and community development.

Rotary Club President Keith Hudson presented the grants during a recent club meeting to representatives from the following organizations:

Habitat for Humanity Goldsboro-Wayne received funding to support affordable housing initiatives and community development efforts. Executive Director Matt Whittle accepted the grant on behalf of the organization.

Rones Chapel Area Community Center was awarded funds to enhance education initiatives, specifically supporting summer tutoring programs. Connie Wells accepted the grant for the community center.

Southeastern Medical Oncology Center (SMOC) secured funding to expand patient support services for individuals and families affected by cancer. Dana Sutton represented the medical center at the presentation.

WAGES Senior Companion Program received support to enhance services for senior citizens through companionship and care programs, while also addressing volunteer base needs. Tiffany Luck accepted the grant on behalf of the program.

3HC (Home Health & Hospice Care) was awarded funding to support compassionate end-of-life care services and family support programs. Rachel Turner represented the organization at the ceremony.

Commitment to Community Service

“These grants reflect our club’s commitment to service above self and our ongoing investment in organizations that are making a tangible impact in our community,” said President Keith Hudson. “We’re proud to support these outstanding partners and the vital work they do.”
