RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Museum of Art will host a unique wellness experience this Saturday, combining yoga practice with non-alcoholic functional cocktails in an outdoor setting designed to promote relaxation and mindfulness.
The “Sunset Yoga + Functional Cocktails” event, scheduled for July 26 from 6 to 8 p.m., will take place at the museum’s top overlook area at 2110 Blue Ridge Road. The event is being organized by Umbrella Dry Bar, a Raleigh-based establishment specializing in non-alcoholic beverages.
Participants will begin the evening with a ready-to-drink cocktail infused with adaptogens, compounds believed to help the body manage stress and promote relaxation. A gentle yoga session will follow from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., led by an experienced instructor. The evening will conclude with additional handcrafted functional cocktails as attendees socialize during the sunset.
The class is designed to make everyone feel at ease while enjoying the soothing atmosphere of the sunset, according to event organizers. The session is open to practitioners of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned yoga enthusiasts.
The event will be held on the museum’s circular overlook area, known as The Ellipse, which provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The event is designed to help participants unwind, breathe, and set a peaceful tone for the weekend ahead.
Attendees are advised to bring their own yoga mats. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the covered entrance area of the museum, where organizers say the acoustics and ambiance will still provide a conducive environment for relaxation.
The functional cocktails featured at the event are crafted by professional bartenders and contain no alcohol, instead incorporating adaptogens and other wellness-focused ingredients. Umbrella Dry Bar describes itself as Raleigh’s non-alcoholic bar focused on bringing people together with good vibes and even better drinks.
Tickets for the two-hour event are available with a refund policy allowing cancellations up to seven days before the scheduled date. The museum is located in Raleigh’s cultural district and regularly hosts community wellness and arts programming.
The event represents a growing trend in wellness tourism and community programming that combines traditional practices like yoga with modern wellness concepts, including functional beverages and adaptogenic ingredients.
