Greene County Gets First License Plate Agency as DMV Expands Local Access

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Greene County residents will have expanded access to vehicle registration services starting Monday with the opening of a new license plate agency in Snow Hill.

The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles will launch the new facility on July 21 at 415 U.S. Highway 13 South, Suite C (Kingold Boulevard), located at Laney Wood Place. The agency will operate under the management of Myranda Jeffrey.

Operating Hours and Services

The new license plate agency will maintain standard business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with closures on state holidays. The facility joins North Carolina’s network of 128 license plate agencies operating statewide.

Residents can access a full range of vehicle-related services at the new location, including:

  • Vehicle registration services
  • Title transactions
  • License plate renewals
  • Replacement tags
  • Handicap placards
  • Duplicate registrations

Public-Private Partnership Model

While the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles oversees all license plate agencies throughout the state, the individual locations are managed by private businesses or local governments. This partnership model allows for expanded service locations while maintaining state oversight of operations.

Digital Alternative Available

For those who prefer online services, the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles offers digital alternatives through NCDMV.gov. Residents can complete property tax payments and registration renewals through the state’s online portal.

The new Greene County location represents the state’s ongoing effort to improve accessibility to essential motor vehicle services for residents across North Carolina.
