Wayne Community College Announces SECU Bridge to Career Scholarships for Fall 2025

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Wayne Community College has announced the availability of State Employees Credit Union Foundation “Bridge to Career Scholarships” for students pursuing workforce credentials through eligible courses. The scholarship program aims to remove financial barriers for students seeking essential career-level training.

Scholarship Coverage and Benefits

The SECU Foundation scholarships provide comprehensive support for students, offering reimbursement for multiple educational expenses including registration fees, textbooks, certification costs, transportation, childcare, and course supplies. Students can receive up to $500 per scholarship for a maximum of two courses.

Eligibility Requirements

Both current Wayne Community College students and new applicants are eligible to apply for the scholarships. Eligible courses must lead to a North Carolina workforce credential at the Essential or Career Level. Application Deadlines

Students interested in Fall semester funding must submit their applications by August 9, 2025. Those planning to enroll for the Spring semester have until November 14, 2025, to apply for Spring 2026 scholarships.

Enhanced Support Through Employment Learning Lab

Scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend workshops at Wayne Community College’s Employment Learning Lab, known as The W.E.L.L. These workshops provide additional career preparation and professional development opportunities for students.

Applications are available through multiple channels for student convenience. Interested applicants can obtain forms at the Workforce Continuing Education Services Office Customer Service Desk, located on the first floor of the Walnut Building at the East Entrance, 3000 Wayne Memorial Drive.
