July 14, 2025, 71, Goldsboro —

Jerry Wayne Nichols, 71, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton but he lived most all of his life in Princeton.  He was born in Wayne County on November 3, 1953 to the late Newsome Ray Nichols and Emma Hollomon Nichols.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Rudy Nichols and Earl Nichols and a sister, Becky Nichols Price and infant sister Emma Jean Nichols.

Jerry retired from the City of Raleigh as a Maintenance Engineer.  He loved older model cars and trucks  and was always “tinkering” on them.  He also loved Nascar and round track racing.  

A good home cooked meal was his most favorite occasion to be with his family.

Jerry is survived by a son, Rodney Nichols of Kenly; brothers, Clay Nichols of Roseboro, Ray Nichols and wife Ruth of Raleigh, J. P. Nichols and wife Betty of Smithfield; sisters, Patsy Boyce and husband Bobby of Goldsboro, Carolyn Lusk and husband Tony of Henderson; sister-in-law, Renee Nichols; granddaughter, Tesla Lynn Nichols; a great grandson, Carsyn Lee Henning, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations.

 The family will receive friends and family from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations on Friday,  July 18, 2025.
