PIKEVILLE, N.C. — A routine traffic violation on Independence Day resulted in the arrest of a driver with outstanding felony warrants and multiple violations.
Details of the Arrest
On July 4th at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers with the Pikeville Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a brown Chevrolet Tahoe for a lane violation. The stop quickly escalated when officers discovered multiple legal issues with both the driver and vehicle.
Driver Charged with Multiple Violations
The driver, identified as Dylan Ray Kinzler, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A records check revealed that Kinzler had outstanding felony warrants for his arrest issued by Durham County authorities.
Vehicle Violations Discovered
During the investigation, officers determined that the Chevrolet Tahoe was displaying a fictitious registration plate. As a result of the multiple violations, the vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.
Booking and Bond Information
Following his arrest, Kinzler was transported and booked at the Wayne County Jail. He is being held under a $30,000 secured bond pending further legal proceedings.
