Reverend Gerald Hollamon, 79, of Mount Olive went to be with his heavenly father that he has preached faithfully about for nearly 50 years on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, at home.

Homegoing service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Interment will follow at Hollamon Family Cemetery in Mount Olive.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Reverend Hollamon was born in Wayne County on January 5, 1946 to the late Robert Talmage and Ruth Hudson Hollamon.  He, along with his wife pastored for nearly 50 years serving in Florida, Virginia and then closer to home including Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church, Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and Goshen New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, JoAnn Hollamon; his son, Brad Hollamon of Mount Olive; one brother, Robert Carrol Hollamon and wife, Diane of Smithfield; his sister, Debbie Epps and husband, Reverend Lynn Epps of Goldsboro; his brother-in-law, Harrell Thigpen of Kinston; two grandchildren, Max Waddell and wife, Rachel and Macy Lancaster; four great-grandchildren, Bralen, Stevie, Caiden and Tucker and also a beloved son-in-law, Tracy Waddell and wife, Joan.

In addition to his parents, Reverend Hollamon was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Waddell and his sister, Lois Gail Thigpen.
