Mrs. Roxanne Knight Lee, age 72, of the Faison area, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025, at her home.

Born in Pennsylvania, she spent some years in Virginia before coming to North Carolina.  Her working career was quite varied, just as her interests were.  She had been a waitress at Southern Belle Restaurant, had a stint at cutting and styling hair, worked at J. D. Teachey Produce, had worked at Clifton Seed Co., had assisted her husband as they farmed, and lastly, had served as bookkeeper for their family business, William Earl Lee Trucking Co.  More importantly, she had been a devout wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, had been a remarkable homemaker, and served well her role as being “The Boss Lady.”

Mrs. Lee worshipped the Lord with her family at the Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Her life will be remembered at a graveside service to be held Friday, June 27, at 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.  Officiating will be Pastor Jeffrey Dail.  The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service, and at the Lee residence at other times.  Memorial gifts may be made to Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 130 Ed Edmundson Road, Mount Olive, NC  28365.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, William Earl Lee, to whom she had been married for 53 years; their children, Jason Lee and wife, Kim, and Brad Lee and wife, Morgan, all of the Faison area, Christy L. Peterson and husband, Frank, of the Dobbersville area, Mount Olive, and Dwayne Lee of the Rones Chapel community, Mount Olive.  She leaves behind her grandchildren, Hayden Lee, Justin Lee, Madison Lee, Jackson Lee, Annalise Lee, Cody Johnson, Taylor Johnson and wife, Alexis, Hannah L. Hood and husband, Garrett, and Gavin Lee; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry Knight and Ida Clark Knight; two sisters, Tammy Clark and Jeanette Petrie; and two daughters-in-law, Kristie J. Lee and Julie Lee.
