William “Eddie” Lane, Jr., 62, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at his home. Born in Wayne County on January 3, 1963, he was son to the late William Lane and Joyce Overbee Lane.

Eddie was the kind of man you could always count on. Selfless and dependable, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was family, a friend, or a stranger, Eddie’s generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Eddie held various positions throughout his career. He was currently the manager of Public Tire Warehouse of Goldsboro where he was widely respected for his expertise and honesty in the tire profession. Eddie was a passionate and loyal sports fan, known for his unwavering support of the ECU Pirates and NC State Wolfpack. Whether it was cheering from the stands or from his favorite chair at home, Eddie’s love for the game was unmatched. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Eddie found peace and joy on the open road, especially when riding his Harley-Davidson. He cherished the memories made on the numerous trips with good friends and his beloved wife, Debbie.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie Hill Lane. His in-laws, Lonnie and Carroll Hill who always loved him like a son. Brother in law, Ron Hill (Michelle), a niece and several nephews. And many special friends that have always been family.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Lane.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Matthew Cornett officiating. Interment will conclude at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.
