Michael “Mickey” Kent Harrell, 75, of Pikeville passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mickey was born in Wayne County on October 11, 1949 to the late James Rufus and Mary Frances Daniels Harrell.  He served in the National Guard and  was employed with Pope Transport of Mount Olive for 33 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Harrell of 15 years; one son Bryan Anders and wife, Kelly of Goldsboro; two brothers, Selby Harrell of Grantham and Frankie Harrell and wife, Melba of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Payton Anders Chambers and husband, Andrew, Bryce Anders and Dylan Champion; one great-granddaughter, Preslee Chambers; many nieces and nephews and his beloved fur baby of 17 years, Gracie.

In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Champion and his sister, Dixie Harrell Finch.
